This archaeological museum is very well maintained with the relics of both Hindu as well as Buddhism related. Sarnath Museum is one of the oldest museums of India. It has a very large collection of sculptures and other architectural remains belonging to different time periods ranging from 3rd Century BC to early medieval period. The most magnificent among them is the Lion Capital, the Indian national emblem. Four lions standing back to back with quite details including the nails of the lion is most exciting to see. It totally mesmerises one with its shining beauty. Here are five galleries and two verandas. The galleries have been named on the basis of the items kept in them, the gallery in the north is the Tathagta gallery, while the latter is the Triratna gallery. The main hall is known as Shakyasinh Gallery and its adjacent gallery in the south has been named Trinity. The Ashutosh gallery is most situated in the south, the verandah on the north and south sides has been given respectively as Vyattavandan and Shilparatna. Preserved in the museum

- The statues of many Buddhist and Bodhvadas of ancient times can be seen in this museum.
- The crown of India 's national symbol Ashoka Pillar is also preserved in this museum.
- This crown of four lions of Ashoka Pillar was established around 250 AD on Ashoka Pillar.
- In the attack of the Turks, the Ashoka pillar was damaged and its crown was later put in the museum.
- The Yakshya statue is safe in the Saranath Museum.
- This preserved statue is from the first-second century BC.
- Apart from statues of Buddha and Tara in different currencies, recorded monumental sculptures, octagonal shafts, umbrellas, also displayed in the steep posture of the red sandstone bodhisattva dedicated by Monk Bala has been displayed.
- Figurines of Buddhist deities and some related items are displayed in the Triratna gallery.

- Buddha's statues are displayed in the Tathagat gallery, giving the Buddha, Vajrasatva, Bodhavati Padmapani, the poison of poison in different currency, giving the most notable statues of Neelkanth Lokeshwar, Maitreya, Sarnath art style.
- Statue of a round-necked Yaksha in the sitting posture in the trimuroor gallery; statues of trinity ( Brahma , Vishnu and Mahesh ), statues of Sun, Saraswati Mahishasur Mardini and some secular objects like the idols of birds, animals, men and women. There are also some deceptive sculptures.
- In the Ashutosh gallery, the various idols of Shiva , Vishnu , Ganesh , Kartikeya , Agni , Parvati , Navagraha, Bhairav like Brahmin Devi and Shiva exhibit the great statue of Darkness.
