This Ghat is located next to south of Dashashwamedh Ghat next to Rana Mahal Ghat. This ghat is an extension of Munshi Ghat, as it has been purchased by the King of Darbhanga. The extension part became Darbhanga Ghat. Beautiful Darbhanga Palace is over there, an intricate and outstanding structure. It was erected in 1915 by King of Darbhanga, Bihar but it has been sold and now it is converted into a luxury hotel. very small ghat of Varanasi pepole seeking Piece of mind and performing puja at the bank of river may come here and enjoy the ghat., The ghat is named after King Bahadur of Darbhanga in Bihar. There was a palace for the king on the riverfront, but it has now been converted into a hotel. Less crowded and so clean, there are a few food stalls near the ghat.
Darbhanga Ghat is used to perform the rites and rituals related to the death of relatives and friends. It was built in the early 1900s by the royal family of Bihar. The palace observed the main characteristics of the Maratha architectural style, built on sandstone, with awesome tower and turrets. Later on, in 1915, the palace was acquired by Rameshwar Singh Bahadur, King of Darbhanga (in the State of Bihar). After it, the palace became known as "Darbhanga Mahal", and the ghat as "Darbhanga Ghat".
One of the highlights of this palace is the very early lift that was operated by hand. Darbhanga Ghat gives royal look to Ghats of river Ganga. It's one of the most visually appealing, and architecturally impressive ghat. Darbhanga Ghat which is located south of Dasaswamedh Ghat next to Rana Mahal Ghat. Dominant feature here is the tall building with green style columns and porches. There are also a couple of rooftop terraces. The building is nicely floodlit at night.
You can walk along river Ganga and its ghat its a paradise for photographers, one can enjoy boat rides of these ghats on sharing basis also. Morning time is really very charming and one can enjoy evening rituals of Ganga also.
