Durga Temple (Monkey Temple)

This is lord Durga Mata Temple which is near to Sankatmochan Hanuman Temple,top roof is red color and its look iconic because of its beautiful architecture and color. people gather here to worship god Durga. This is one of the rare temples that stays open till 2 pm. Most close at 12 noon. It must be a historic temple, that's why it's finds its mention on the tourist map of Banaras.
Durga Mandir was constructed in the 18th century by a Bengali Maharani (Bengali queen). The temple was built in North Indian Nagara style of architecture. The temple is painted red with Ochre to match the colours of the central icon of Durga, the goddess of strength and power. Inside the temple, lots of elaborately carved and engraved stones can be found also known as Durga Kund Mandir, Durga Temple and also monkey temple, is one of the most famous temples in the holy city of Varanasi This temple has great religious importance in Hindusim. Located near a water Body which has been developed by fountain which hardly operates Built in 18th century had lots of money in and around in earlier days that is why it is also known as monkey temple. There is a small pond or "kund" here which is connected to the Ganges.
You can feel the positive vibrations immediately on entering the temple. Monkeys coming out of the temples, there were everywhere. The grounds are home to a hundred or more monkeys and apparently young couples getting married visit the temples as part of the ceremonies. There is one old tank near temple which is used by many pilgrims to take bath before going to temple. This Temple is also adjecent To Tusli Manas mandir so walkable distance.
