It is said that many years ago a person sat sarcastically on the sage and his wife that without his son the family could not move forward. Due to this, the sage couple moved to Vindhyachal. Where he practiced austerity of Brahma Dev. Then Brahmaji told him that Mahadev himself could only change his destiny. After this, a son Markandeya was born to the sage's house. When Markandeya came to know about his age, he also worshiped Shiva. After which Lord Shiva provided longevity to him. Since then this Shiv Temple has been named Markandeya Mahadev Temple. Since then, it is believed that by rendering veneration of God, they postpone the crisis of famine and give blessings to the devotee for longevity. Here every year thousands of pilgrims come to heat and worship Lord Shiva. Even today, the Indian public gets siddhi and peace at pilgrim centers. From time to time, such ascetic has arisen on earth, who have overturned the penis of fate on the basis of their tenacity.
